MISSA Qualifier allocation spots ( W - West  C - Central  E - East)

MISSA Supplemental Rule 5.5 governs the allocation of MISSA Mallory Qualifier and MISSA Baker Qualifer berths between the three leagues. The below summarizes the rules, but should not be taken as modifying or replacing the rules.

For the MISSA Baker Qualifier, the 10 berths are basically split proportionally between the leagues based on the number of schools that participate in the league prequalifiers. For example, if there are 20 total schools across MISSA who go to the league qualifiers, 10 of the 20 will advance, so 50% will advance from each league pre-qualifier.

For the MISSA Mallory Qualifier, the allocation is based on the number of teams in the league who participated in two or more Tier 1 and Tier 2 events (excluding singlehanded and single-division regattas) in the preceding calendar year.

ALLOCATIONS FOR ISSA CHAMPIONSHIP REGATTAS

The number of berths at Nationals is fixed, 20 for the Mallory, 12 for the Baker and 12 each Open ILCA 7, Boys ILCA 6 and Girls ILCA 6 for the Cressy.

.At the end of the school year, the final allocations for the Cressy in the Fall and for the Mallory and Baker the following Spring are determined, using membership totals to develop proportions for each district. For example if a district has 70 member schools of a national total membership of 350, 70/350 = 0.2, which produces 4 berths of 20 for Mallory, 2.4 (rounds to 2) for Baker and 3.2 (rounds to 3) for Cressy. To repeat: these are the final allocations for the Cressy in the Fall, and for the Mallory and Baker the following Spring.

Results are rounded and fit to the total number of berths in any one championship. All districts receive at least one berth in each of the three Nationals.

The shifts in allocations are the product of shifting proportions in member totals against the national total.
