Summer regatta season is on it's last legs, which means that fall HS sailing is here!
NWISA Girl's Invitational Qualifier, September 21-22
The first HS regatta this fall is for 'girls only' with Olympia hosting the 2019 iteration of this qualifying event. The top 4 active teams will gain a berth to attend the PCISA Girl's Invitational in San Diego October 19-20. This will be the third year with this regatta on the fall schedule and it's become a highlight of the season, no only because it shows off how much our co-ed sport has to offer to young women athletes, but because it will highlight some of the best talent (of any gender!) in the NW. Don't miss this one!
Mixed teams/sailors are still encouraged to attend, but only active teams can qualify. If you don't have enough women on your team to field four sailors, you should still bring them and pair up with another NWISA team (SSP will have some sailors to share). The more the better, a full boat rotation is scheduled, so the more teams that sign up the more racing there will be (if turn out is low this may be limited to a one-day regatta).
Registration is now open. If your team(s) plan to attend register them now on the NWISA regatta registration sheet. Registration closes next Monday the 16th at 10pm.
NWISA Keelboat Invitational Qualifier, September 28-29
This will be held out of CYC Seattle at Shilshole in Seattle Sailing Club's J80s. Notice of Race will be posted and sent out shortly. Space may be limited, so teams that are planning to attend are encouraged to sign up as soon as registration opens (Monday September 16 at 11am). The top team will gain a berth to the ISSA Keelboat Invitational in St Pete, FL in December.
NWISA Singlehanded Championship for the Burke Thomas Trophy, October 5-6
Also to be held at CYC Seattle out of Shilshole. Notice of Race is posted on the NWISA website. All singlehanded sailors in the district should mark their calendars! The top Radial and Full Rig sailor will represent NWISA at the Cressy on November 2-3 in Santa Barbara.
