We had 30 boats for SoCal #1 at NHYC on September 14th. 7 Races were sailed, 5 of which were in a very light and shifty Southerly breeze. A huge thank you to Steve Schupak and Jeff Kraus for adjusting the course a few dozen times throughout the morning and early afternoon. Once the Westerly filled in, we were able to get two longer races completed in 8-10kts of breeze – a substantial improvement over the conditions in the morning.

Big thank you’s also going out to the ladies that helped out with registration – Julie Martin, who coordinated volunteers from the NHHS team, Chris Overstreet for helping out with registration and bringing all of the sailors ice-cream sandwiches, and Jack Martin and Katie Calder, both Seniors on the NHHS team for helping out with Race Committee. Thanks to coaches Cameron McLaren (NHHS) and Nate Dunham (CDM) for jumping in and helping adjust the course as needed. Looking forward to another great event at BYC on November 16th!
