REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
SAISA SP6 was jointly hosted by USF and SPYC. Twenty-two varsity teams raced FJs in A division, 420s in B division, while another 10 JV teams sailed 420s in B division only. Conditions were foggy with intermittent rain, northerly winds from 4-10 knots, very flat water. Thirteen races were completed in each division, all inner/outer trapezoids. Races varied in length from 9 to 13 minutes. General recalls were kept to a minimum as the I flag was in effect every start. One breakdown was granted and one scoring redress was awarded. Thanks to all coaches, parents, and sailors, as well as USF sailing team members and SPYC for their help.
Congratulations to Sarasota HS for their victory.
